IPO releases new online tools to help businesses better understand intellectual property

The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) had today published a new enforcement module as part of its IP Health Check kit.

The update includes a raft of new e-learning tools designed to help businesses understand what to do if somebody infringes the IP they own.

The IP Health Check has been utilised more than 20,000 times since its launch in 2009. The kit consists of nine individual modules on different areas of IP, including: copyright, trademarks, designs, patents, confidential information, licensing your IP, trademarks overseas, franchising, and now, enforcement.

From within the online training modules, businesses can access a list of action points which can be used to help you protect and exploit your IP rights, as well as guidance on how to put these into practice and links to other useful information and resources.

To get started, simply register and log in here.

However, the kit is just one of many online training tools available to businesses and individuals to help you understand how IP works and what can be protected.

The full range of online manuals, from IP for Research to IP for Investment, can be accessed here.
