The regulator said its start-up services will help businesses understand how intellectual property can be used to accelerate an idea and protect their technology.

Serving as a guide for beginners, the IP for Business tools and IP Equip e-learning tool will help entrepreneurs quickly get up to speed with Intellectual Property law, such as what can be protected using patents, copyright, trade marks and designs.

The service also offers an introduction to IP management tools, business planning and IP protection.

IP Health Check tool

If you are unsure how to use intellectual property to accelerate your business, the IP Health Check tool will recommend basic action points that will help you get more out of your designs, shapes, technologies, or brand.

IP for Investment

This resource is designed to help prepare an “IP-rich business” when seeking equity finance to grow, such as identifying how intellectual property can be used to accelerate business growth.

International attaché network

If you are experiencing international intellectual property issues, the Government’s international attaché network can provide basic advice on jurisdictional IP laws and regulations.
